The TRANsportation Systems and LOGistics Laboratory (TRANSLOG) is a Research Laboratory that belongs to the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Its main research interests are focused on logistics and transport modelling and simulation, performance evaluation and benchmarking, transport intermodality and co-modality, as well as transport policy and pricing. AUEB-RC/TRANSLOG has developed substantial expertise in logistics and transport related research through its participation in more than 50 R&D projects funded by the European Commission as well as public and private bodies. Besides its research activities, the laboratory is involved in the educational activities of the Department of Management Science and Technology and the Graduate Programs: i) MBA-International (specialisation Logistics and Transport) and ii) Executive MBA, supporting a series of courses related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management of Transportation and Distribution Systems, as well as Project and Programme Management. In addition, the laboratory supports postgraduate and doctoral students in research topics covering Transportation Systems, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
About teaching team
Professor Konstantinos G. Zografos is the Director of AUEB-RC/TRANSLOG Laboratory and an expert in the area of Application of Operations Research and Information Systems in Transportation Systems and Logistics Management. He has published more than 100 papers and has been involved as a Principal Investigator in more than 60 R&D projects funded by the European Commission and the Greek Government. Professor Zografos has been awarded the Edelman Laureate Honorary Medal of INFORMS in 2008 for significant contributions to Operations Research and the 2005 President’s Medal Award of the British Operational Research Society.
Dr. Michael A. Madas is a Senior Researcher in AUEB-RC/TRANSLOG. He holds a B.S. in Operational Research, a M.Sc. in Decision Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Management of Air Transport Systems from AUEB. He has substantial expertise in transport modelling and performance assessment, air transport and airport operations, transport policy, as well as development and validation of Decision Support Systems. He has participated in a number of projects funded by the European Commission and the Greek Government.
